Historically, coffee shipped from India to Europe endured monsoon winds in open wooden ships, aging and yellowing the beans. Today, this process is replicated in open warehouses during monsoon months. The result is a coffee with very low acidity, full body, and notes of wood, spice, and tobacco. Monsooned Malabar is protected by GI tag and must be produced in specified regions. It's exceptional for espresso and those who prefer low-acid coffee.
